What Dandelions Teach Us

Adults often call dandelions weeds. They pop up where we don’t expect them, crack through concrete, and refuse to be tamed. But maybe that’s what makes them so special.

God often hides beauty in the ordinary.

Everyone has a gift; we just might need to search ourselves to find it.

Dandelions remind me of resilience—not in a loud, dramatic way, but in the quiet strength of something that keeps showing up.

Children love them. They make wishes. They blow their seeds. They don’t see a weed; they see wonder.

If you’ve ever felt overlooked, unchosen, or “less than,” you might just have something in common with these little flowers.

In our home, we started seeing dandelions differently when one of my little ones asked, “Why don’t people like them?” That question led to my children’s book, and to even more reflection on how we view ourselves—and others.

Maybe the world needs more dandelions: unassuming, strong, healing, and full of purpose.
